Crufts 2007

Crufts IS the major event regarding dogs.
This year was a very exciting one, because my kennel moved to England in 2005 and puppys and the first generation respectively were shown.

I was really pleased, especially with the dog handling of my friend Dawn and Sandra Burger. On Saturday she excellently handled GB-Ch. HYDE CASTLE Flic Flac for Carradine. On Sunday started as the Austrian representative in the International Juniorhandling Competition and she did well..

187 cairn terriers were shown and many visitors from all over Europe critically watched the competition. We - the visitors from the Continent - realized that our dogs are highly competitive and we do not need to to hide our light under a bushel. But in terms of ring discipline we can learn a lot from English exhibitors. There are no untrained dogs. They are shown on loose leash, friendly looking at the handler, standing free with upright tail - these dogs present themselves in a marvellous way. This time, Cairns from the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, Spain and Finland participated, all of them in top quality, but unfortunately not placed at the end. The judge was not inclined towards the foreign dogs.
