| Cairn Terrier Kennel Hyde Castle 1983-2006 The kennel HYDE CASTLE was founded in 1983 with the first litter by „X-Mas Belle of Mount Button“, who became Austrian, Yugoslavian and International Champion in her career. Until now dogs from Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and Sweden were put to stud. Two bitches were imported from from the English kennels DAVMAR and CARRADINE, one came from Swedish kennel RASKEN‘S, and they all ensured good line-breeding. The main focus in breeding was on keeping the breed standard, meaning movement, true type and character. The puppies left at the age of 10, they were dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped and they grew up within the family and had the affection of the children. Successful at dog shows 95 HYDE CASTLE dogs had been shown at dog shows so far and 39 of them achieved various champion titles as well as many International results: 2 European Youth winners and many single titles, and numerous excellent placements at World Dog Shows. In summer 2006 the transfer of the HYDE CASTLE kennel to England took place, because my friend Dawn Innet continues my breeding targets and doesn‘t let die my blood lines. Kennel party – 25 years of HYDE CASTLE 55 dogs and their owners attended. In my farewell speech I could say Thank you for 24 years of faithful support of the HAYDE CASTLE kennel. And I promised to continue with our CAIRN-AKTIV hiking days. Of course I will also in future anwer all Cairn questions. I became honorary member of the ÖGV and the ÖKfT. But the greatest honour was the Certificat for “Hochzucht” in Austria – an acknowledgement for a lot of work, consequential breed selection and plenty of idealism for the breed is necessary. Now I focus on my latest hobby – to teach kids the skills of Junior Handling in our club “Junge Hundefreunde Austria“. As an International Judge for the entire FCI groups III and IX and some of group II and VI, I am able to pass on my knowledge to breeders and exhibitorser. |
